TIRZAH SINK IN

Essex-born, South-London-based gem songwriter Tirzah released a smashing guitar and drum-led single 'Send Me' last month. Now, she releases the gripping 'Sink In'. The video revolves around two people dancing in dimly-lit shallow waters; they splash and move seamlessly with the motion of the song. The music itself is dramatic - where bold 80s-style drums hit and synthesiser plays a twangy, monotonous melody. Later on, electric piano pokes its head through, tinkering freely. Tirzah's vocals are loaded with her melismatic R&B flourishes, but also a grandiose sense of space, her delivery shares a similar feeling to Macy Gray's hit 'I Try'. For the chorus, she repeats the phrase 'I'm sinking, for that feeling' in a husky, low register. Submerge yourself to 'Sink In' here. -Ellie Rose-Davies
